SEA Games XXVI Broadcasters Meeting Followed by 39 Participants
(JAKARTA) – At least 39 representatives from television broadcasting organizer from the participating countries of SEA Games XXVI attended the SEA Games XXVI Broadcaster Meeting at Ballroom Hotel Sultan, Senayan, Jakarta on Thursday (18/8), to discuss technical preparations for the coverage of this biennial sports festival.
The Indonesian Director General of SEA Games XXVI Organizing Committee Rachmat Gobel officially opened the said meeting. Rachmat hoped this meeting could produce positive feedback for Inasoc so that the coverage of SEA Games XXVI by the television broadcasting organizer can take place smoothly and the result can be transmitted to SEA Games participating countries and the world.
Meanwhile the Director of Inasoc Media and Broadcast, Linda Wahyudi, stated that this meeting is very important in order to discuss the technical issues of broadcasting. Linda hoped that the expose on SEA Games XXVI not only on the competition but also other aspects, especially Indonesian superiorities as the host.
This meeting also attended by the Director of Inasoc IT and Telecommunication, Sony Teguh who explained that the IT and provider issues has ready to serve all the necessities of the broadcasting organizer during SEA Games XXVI.
The participants also get the explaination concerning various technical issues on news transmission through television from PT Telkom as the official provider of SEA Games XXVI. Through this meeting Inasoc expected a good cooperation with the television broadcasting organizer.
After the said the meeting the participants will visit some of the venues located in Jakarta. On Friday (19/8) the participants heading to Palembang, South Sumatera, to observe the construction of several venues at the complex of Jakabaring Sports Arena. The visit to Palembang is also to overview Palembang readiness as the host of SEA Games XXVI.
SEA Games XXVI will take place in Jakarta and South Sumatera on 11-22 November. There are 43 sports and 545 sport events at the upcoming SEA Games XXVI.
Indonesia targeting the most gold medals or the overall winner on this SEA Games. Indonesia also hoped to be a successful host for this biennial sports event.
On SEA Games XXV in Vientiane, Laos, 2009, Indonesia took the third place with 43 gold medals, 53 silver medals and 74 bronze medals. Asean Games SEA Games XXVI 2011 will be held in Indonesia (Jakarta and Palembang) from November 11 through November 25. This SEA Games sports festival is held biennially and involving 11 South East Asia countries, that is Brunei Darussalam, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
